Celebrating “Trunk or Treating” in Middle River

Many area citizens joined in a unique celebration of Halloween as they parked along the street with their trunks open giving out treats as costumed children marched down the street in a Halloween Parade. The event was sponsored by the Legacy Center Committee, with additional sponsorship from the Middle River Legion Auxiliary, The Honker, Middle River Coop Oil Association, and Josh Veselka.

To say this has been an interesting election year would be a profound understatement. As the Honker goes to press, the national presidential election is still in limbo, with final results not being announced pending the inclusion of ALL ballots.

Warroad Area Forestry News

The Thompson Forest Road is now open to traffc. A stretch from the Bemis Campground to the Root Road had to be re-shaped to improve water drainage on the road surface. Mulching and seeding still need to be completed. This project is weather dependent, the hope is to complete the seeding yet this year; but it may have to wait until next spring. Right of way work is also continuing on the first 4 miles of the River road. This project is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.
