ETHAN O’HARA SHARES THE LESSON OF Serving Community

Ethan O’Hara, a confirmation student at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, teamed with Tri-Community Living at Home on a project to replenish supplies used by local senior citizens. Ethan recognized the group’s need when visiting with his grandmother and knew he could help. Working with Darcy Hestekind and Leola Englesrud of Tri-Community Living at Home, a “wish list” was compiled and Ethan went shopping. With shopping bags in hand, Ethan delivered $250.37 worth of items that included health screening supplies such as an oximeter, a manual blood pressure cuff and a digital thermometer, as well as craft/art supplies, puzzles, office supplies…and of course coffee! Many thanks to Thrivent Action Teams for providing the funds. Pastor Cathie Rhodes encourages her students to be active community members and serve their community when able. Ethan is finishing his final year of confirmation classes and is looking forward to being confirmed in the Spring.

The Puck Hits the Ice!

On Saturday, January 16th the Grygla Ice Devils made their way west to Middle River to take on the Skippers at the Middle River Ice Rink. It was a hard fought battle and the Ice Devils came out with a win of 8-7. The Middle River Legacy Committee donated hotdogs and Young’s General Store donated hot chocolate. It was a beautiful day to enjoy some puck!
