PARENTS, SPONSORS, CONTESTANTS HONORED AT Miss Middle River Queen’s Luncheon

Miss Middle River 2019-2020, Piper Sondreal was a special honored guest at the annual Miss Middle River Queen’s Luncheon held on Sunday, August 29. Piper will be crowning her successor at the Miss Middle River pageant on Saturday, September 11. She is pictured with her parents, David and Leslie Sondreal and serving punch to the guests. The five contestants vying for the title of Miss Middle River 2021, their parents and sponsors, were also honored at the luncheon, where they were privy to meeting the girls, visiting with them, receiving insight into information for the final two weeks of preparation, and even getting a sneak preview of the opening show number.

Good Old Days Viking

The 2021 Viking Good Old Days celebration featured the 30-year milestone of Waterworth’s Woodshop. Statement from the Waterworth’s: “We had so much fun celebrating 30 years of business with our great community of family, friends, neighbors and supporters. With the parade, the kids games and inflatables, the shop tours, the live music, the church service and the pleasant conversations throughout the days leave us feeling so grateful to be a real part of this community and to have your support. Worsening drought and increasing wildfire risk mean more burning restrictions begin Tuesday

To help ensure public safety and protect natural resources, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is expanding burning restrictions across portions of central and northern Minnesota, beginning 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, August 17. Burning restrictions will now cover 34 counties where intensifying drought has elevated the potential for devastating wildfires.
