Worsening drought and increasing wildfire risk mean more burning restrictions begin Tuesday

To help ensure public safety and protect natural resources, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is expanding burning restrictions across portions of central and northern Minnesota, beginning 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, August 17. Burning restrictions will now cover 34 counties where intensifying drought has elevated the potential for devastating wildfires.

A perfect day for racing and the Greenbush Race Park welcomed in Lightning Sprint drivers from six different states as it was night three of the MinnKota POWRi Lightning Sprint Summer Shootout.

Summer Health Care Intern at NVHC

North Valley Health Center was once again awarded the SHCIP (Summer Health Care Internship Program) grant. This grant gives funding for NVHC to hire a student from within the Minnesota school systems, either high school or post-secondary, for the summer months as a general healthcare intern. Ashley Benke of Newfolden, Minnesota, and a 2021 graduate of Greenbush-Middle River High School, was this year’s summer intern.
