On June 2, 1937, Eileen was born to Hilmer and Emma (Graff) Swenson at their home in East Valley Township, the first of twins—Eileen and Eldon. Eileen was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended country school where her mother taught before attending high school in Newfolden, graduating in 1955. She attended nursing school in Thief River Falls and worked in Minneapolis, MN.
Walter Joseph Chaplinski was born on June 14th, 1952, in Greenbush, MN to Albin Lawrence Chaplinski and Julia Ann (Stanina) Chaplinski Johnson.
Betty Ann Johnson of Warroad, MN passed away at her home on December 17, 2021 at the age of 75. Betty was born on December 6, 1946 in Strandquist, MN to Joseph and Elphie (Hegstrom) Adlis. She grew up in Strandquist, attending school there through 12th grade. On June 20, 1964 Betty and Michael Johnson were married in Warren, MN. They had two children, Richard and Kelly.
Joy Ann Knutson, 64, of Newfolden, MN passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 following a 2 1/2 year courageous battle with cancer at Sanford Hospital of Fargo, ND with her loving family at her side.
Rodney (Rocky) Newton, age 74, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. Rodney Gene Newton was born on March 14, 1947 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Norman Ordean Newton and Lillian Petra (Sorenson) Newton. He was raised on the family farm north of Grygla and baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN. He attended school in Grygla, MN, and graduated from the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN in 1965. Following graduation Rocky enlisted with the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1973. He took pride in serving his country and held that close to his heart, as a true patriot.
