Captains Brooke Olson & Brady Skeim put together a team dinner last week for the team ( even though it was their parents and Grandma Nancy, we’re giving them the credit!). It was so fun to just be together and watch the team bond. They competed in the first ever True North Conference meet on May 15 in Thief River Falls and all first place finishes were records since it is the first meet of the new Conference. True Team is next Tuesday in Park Rapids with all events filled except hurdles. We are not expecting to win but we are expecting pretty awesome performances from Brady Skeim, Leo Bring, Brooke Olson, Gage Hockstedler, Talon Hilagus to name a few. And with this team, anything is possible. It’s been a great season and we are pleased with their hard work and good attitudes.

BGMR Softball

The boys golf team had a busy week with three consecutive meets. BGMR hosted the first meet of the week in Greenbush at the Oakview Golf Course. It was a beautiful day, a bit breezy but warm, for this conference meet. Zackery Wiseman led the team with a score of 80, followed by Jaxon Janousek who was just one stroke behind with an 81. Wednesday, the team travelled to Bemidji for the Section 8A Preview at the beautiful Bemidji Town & Country Club. The 18-hole course was in beautiful condition, and the greens were much faster than the boys have been used to. Jaxon Janousek took over again as leader for the team completing his round with a 92, followed by younger brother, Danyn, and Masen Swenson both finishing with a 96. By Thursday, the boys were beginning to feel the impact of golfing the two previous days, as they headed to Oak Harbor Golf Course in Baudette. It was a bit cooler and extremely windy, but they persevered the 18-hole course for this conference meet. Zackery Wiseman completed his round with a low score of 87 for the team, followed by Jaxon Janousek with a 90. Currently, the boys are sitting second in the conference.
