Gator Golfers FINALLY Swing their Clubs!

On May 5, 2022, the BGMR Gator golfers attended their first boys and girls meets of the season. The girls hosted a Border Conference meet at Oak View Golf Course in Greenbush, and the boys headed to the Karlstad Golf Course. The girls placed first out of six teams, Jasmine Christianson (93) claimed medalist honors with Jade Reese(95) runner-up, and Emily Burkel placed 9th out of 45 participants in her first 18-hole meet of her career! Other scores for the girls were Ava Christianson with a 122 and Bethanie VonEnde a 129. The boys placed second out of seven teams, finishing behind Warroad. Danyn Janousek scored a 77 and placed third, with Jaxon Janousek placing fifth just one stroke behind his brother out of 47 participants (both boys having their career personal best scores in an 18-hole meet). Other scores for the boys were Alex Anderson 83, Masen Swenson 89, Kobey Dallager 92, Owen Lund 95, Brandon Brazier 95, Christian Berg 96, and Eli Olafson 118.

Advancing to the FCCLA National Conference in SanDiego, California, June 28-July 3, are: (Front) Elizabeth Gust in Entrepreneurship Level 2, Mya Bennett in Food Innovations Level 1, McKenna Bennett in Event Management Level 3, and Meagan Otto in Professional Presentation Level 2. (Back) Audrey Gust in Entrepreneurship Level 2, Berlyn Burkel in Event Management Level 3, Savannah Anderson in Professional Presentation Level 1, Aubrey Eeg in Professional Presentation Level 1 (1st Alternate), Sierra Westberg in Repurpose and Redesign Level 2, and Brooklyn Wahl in Event Management Level 3. Laura Dahl and Brittany Burkel are the proud advisers of this group. McKenna Bennett, Berlyn Burkel and Brooklyn Wahl competed as a team in Event Management Level 3, all others competed individually. In addition, Elizabeth Gust served as the chapters Voting Delegate, Sierra Westberg and Brylie Kjersten were awarded the FCCLA Spark Award, Aubrey Eeg was awarded the New Horizon award, and Mya Bennett will serve as the chapter’s Youth Leader for the 2022- 2023 school year.
