Life can seem complicated sometimes. Because it is. There are responsibilities and deadlines. Work is demanding. Home life is demanding. There are never enough hours in the day - or the night for that matter. Sleep deprivation is real. The threat of COViD is real.

Letter to the Editor

You might ask, “Why should I support the Build MCC Strong campaign?”. Well, as a lifelong district resident, former school board member, and now full-time bus driver and substitute teacher I can say that there are several reasons why it is important to support the MCC building referendum. Of course, safety is critical, and it would be a relief to not have the children crossing the street as much as they are now. Also, combining the two schools makes so much sense because of the age of the existing Elementary building. It is very inefficient to heat and costly to maintain.

In the last year, much has changed in the world due to the distance required between people as we tried to not spread Covid-19. We do not like being distant and so found ways to have some connection to accomplish work, attend our usual activities or so we could simply socialize. I am ready return to some normalcy; however, I would like to keep some things that appeared as a result.

I thought this week I would follow-up on last week’s column with some about learning how to work. Learning how to work is best learned on the ground, behind a cash register or face to face. There is so much opportunity to learn how to work right now, it seems a shame when opportunities go unused. There’s opportunity to make money and learn how to work and it is all being left on the table with every want-ad that goes without an answer.
