Rural Reflections

I have always admired teachers and those who help them. Growing up in the seventies, I attended Viking Elementary and really liked my teachers and the teacher’s aides who taught me things I would need the rest of my life. Later in life I really admired these people and appreciated the help they had offered to me.The teaching profession must be very rewarding but also demanding. The last year and a half have been particularly demanding as teachers work with students in person and remotely. This week I met a very energetic paraprofessional with a long history of helping young people learn.

Preschool or Playdates

This spring, as things were starting to open up after a long, lonely winter of pandemic restrictions, limited family gatherings and almost zero children’s activities, we attended our first preschool round-up at the local Christian School. Our son had just turned three and we were just dipping our toes in on what the future might hold for us and our children. It’s wild to think we are already to that stage in life.
