I had plans for a different column this week, however a new idea dropped into my lap on Sunday morning. Literally, dropped into my lap. It might seem at first to be another column on cats, it is not. It is about comfort, real comfortnot indulgence or extravagance-just comfort.

I am writing on a very quiet Sunday morning as two-of a possible three-cats are sleeping on me or adjacent to me. I have a full mug of coffee, good agriculture shows on the television, all the remote controls within reach-and cats. I do not mean to brag but this is pretty good stuff. Let us set this up, give you the lay of the land. I typically sit in an oversized recliner, when we tried these out, Lisa and I could sit together in one. One portion of the seating area is elevated with a folded quilt to build it up to the height the arm rest. I then cover the elevated area and arm rest with a single blanket so that it blends seamlessly.
