Rural Reflections

I like to write about my passions, one of these passions is a desire to fly. This desire is counterintuitive to the fact I am intensely scared of heights. I have flown several times and, while it is a safe form of transportation, I would rather enjoy the exhilaration without the elevation.

I started building and flying model planes and rockets when I was young, as did my brother-Darrel. The first few hundred feet of airspace were fairly busy north of Viking back in the seventies. In the last few years, drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) have replaced model airplanes for me-they are now much easier to fly and have high-quality, onboard cameras which transfer the experience directly to a screen on the ground controller unit which I carry.
