Rural Reflections

This was the week of Christmas and I wanted to indulge myself in nostalgia. I think if most people were to recall memories from childhood, a high percentage would be from Christmas. I am no different. My hope is that my memories stir your own which will keep you in the mindset you need to enjoy this very different Christmas.

Years back, there was such a list of celebrities that came for Christmas Eve at our home near Viking. When I was young, our celebrities were mostly grandparents. Later on, the “A” list included siblings that had left the house and started their own families. I grew up in a small home, so it was easy to fill with people. There was something so cool about that crush of people, the place felt so warm.
