Gardener’s Corner
When looking through the many seed catalogs that have come one might come along some terms that are not familiar. So the following is a mini glossary to get you started:
Slow to bolt – this term is usually associated with lettuce and is a good thing. It means the plant doesn’t flower to early.
Determinate – this is associated with tomatoes (and a few peppers) and means that the plant will grow only so big and stop. It’s a good thing for patio plantings or if you don’t want a HUGE plant with a lot of green tomatoes late in the season. Indeterminate – again, this goes with tomatoes and
