Henry Melvin Voll

Henry Melvin Voll passed away on December 7, 2020 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 92. Henry was born on August 3, 1928 in Salol, MN to Lewis and Marie (Johansson) Voll in Salol, MN. He worked hard as a young man on the family farm, an occupation that he continued and loved the rest of his life, until his retirement in 2000. He also owned and operated the Roseau Locker Plant from 1972-1983, and was a bus driver for over 45 years. He and Loretta (LaValla) were married on October 19, 1952. He later survived Tuberculosis in 1969. He was active in the Salol community and a lifetime member of the Norland Free Lutheran Church.

Delores Marie Haugtvedt, 90, of Riverside, OH and Greenbush, MN, passed away, Sunday, November 29, 2020 in Dayton, OH. She was born in Hereim Township, Roseau County, MN on March 22, 1930, to the late Rosella M. (Miers) and August C. Schaefer.

Phyllis Eleanor Blazek

Phyllis Eleanor Blazek was born on July 11, 1939 to the late Victor and Mary (Cwikla) Taus in Huss Township, Roseau County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Benwood and attended school at Grasslake School in Benwood, then Greenbush, and later in the 10th grade attended North High School in Minneapolis where she graduated. Shortly after her graduation she was united in marriage to Don Blazek at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush on July 6th, 1957. The two made their home in Blaine, MN for 10 years before moving to Greenbush where they farmed for a year.

Nadine Thompson

Nadine Thompson

Nadine Thompson was born on February 10, 1925 in Huss Twp, Roseau County, near Strathcona, to the late Joseph and Celia (Hagstrom) Gaarde. She attended country school until the 8th grade and lived her entire life in the area. She was united in marriage to Roman Thompson on December 14, 1949 in Thief River Falls. They made their home in Strathcona for several years before moving to a farm east of Strathcona for one year and eventually settling on their farm in Huss Township in 1954 where they farmed and made their home. Roman passed away in 2010 and Nadine continued to make her home on the farm. She moved into LifeCare assisted living in 2016 and then LifeCare Greenbush manor nursing home in 2017 where she passed away at the age of 95 years, 8 months, and 23 days.
