Sally Ann Gentry

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sally Ann Gentry on March 11, 2020. The beloved mother of Linda Gentry, Lisa Warner and Mary Gentry (John Kothera), cherished grandmother of Sara and John Warner, dearest partner in crime of Norie Christophersen and countless children, Grandma Sally will be deeply missed. She was mother, mentor, counselor and friend to all whose lives she touched.

Sally Ann Gullikson was born on November 22, 1931 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and raised in Middle River, Minnesota. Sally taught school in Minnesota, California and Utah. While in Utah, she started working for the government in the area if computer programming at which she excelled. She returned to Middle River in the mid-70s to care for her beloved parents Ing and Clara Gullikson. After moving back to Middle River, she purchased and ran the Rex Café for several years. She became Mayor and was instrumental in multiple city improvements. She ran the Gentry Tax Office for countless years. Sally deeply believed in the importance of community involvement and lived that commitment thoroughly and whole-heartedly all of her years. She was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church of Middle River and was a member of the Middle River Community Club.

Visitation was held at the Collins Funeral Home in Middle River after 6 p.m. Sunday, March 15, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, at First Lutheran Church in Middle River.

Sally asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to favorite charities. And that if you are a Republican, you change your affiliation immediately.
