Roland Wiek

Roland Iver Wiek was born October 18, 1942, to Joel and Alice Wiek in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Vining Lutheran Church. He attended school at District #140 in Folden Township and graduated from Henning High School in 1960. Roland attended college at Bemidji State University and graduated from NDSU in Fargo, receiving his degree and license as a registered Civil Engineer.

Early in his career, Roland worked for the Minnesota Highway Department. After that, he went to work for D. H. Blattner Company in Avon, Minnesota, eventually becoming Vice President. Roland retired from D. H. Blattner Company in 2006.

Roland was an avid deer hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling.

Roland is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, his parents, and his sister Linda.

Roland is survived by his son Kevin (Jessie) of Princeton, MN; brother Joel (Grace) of Polk City, FL; brother David (Sharon) of Hayward, WI; brother Donald (Dawna) of Vining; sister Christine of Arlington Heights, IL; sister Mary of Battle Lake, MN; as well as his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
