Melanie was born on January 30, 1973, to Jerry Hall and Marilyn (Spennigsby) Hall. She lived in Ada, MN and attended Ada-Borup school and also waitressed at Fay's Cafe in Ada. Her senior year she moved to Hendrum, MN and attended Norman County West, where she graduated in 1991. She also worked at Schnabel Insurance in Hendrum, MN. After high school, Melanie attended Josef's School of Hair Design in Grand Forks, ND. While going to school she worked at the Bingo Palace in Grand Forks.

She decided to go back to school and received her Associate of Arts degree in Secretarial Science from Mayville State University. While living in Mayville, she worked at Paula's Cafe, an insurance agency, the Luther Memorial dining room, and the salon.

A few years later she moved to Rochester, MN. While there she worked at Technology Concepts. On May 14, 2004, her beautiful daughter Madeline Hazel was born.

For the past 12 years, she called Chaska, MN home, along with her love, Lamar McCormick and her daughter. She worked at Cigna until August of this year.

Melanie enjoyed life! Whether it was taking trips to New Mexico, California or Arizona to visit friends, or enjoying concerts—recently seeing Aerosmith in Las Vegas, and Madonna in the cities—among others. Anything that Melanie did, she always had a good time—and everyone around her would, too. Her smile would light up any room. She was caring and compassionate to everyone she met.

Melanie is missed dearly and loved by everyone she touched in her life. Her surviving loved ones include her father, Jerry (Bucky) Hall, stepmother Denise Hall, much-loved "second mom" Eunice Slininger, grandparents Russell and Inez Kappes, life partner and teammate Lamar McCormick, daughter Madeline Wegge, sisters Shannon Hall (Kevin Westcott), Gretchen Hall, Janna Hall (Mathew Henkel), brothers Jarret Hall (Katerina Potts), Josh Hall, nephew Taylor Gunderson, and nieces Morgan Gunderson, Aurora Erstad and Ava Hall. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family in Minnesota, North Dakota, and New York.
