Lynn Larson
Lynn Raymond Larson age 76 of Minneapolis, MN passed away unexpectedly at Birchwood Care Home on August 2, 2022.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Pastor Timothy Lundeen officiating.
Burial will follow at the Moose River Cemetery in Gatzke, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Lynn Raymond Larson was born on June 9, 1946, at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN to Glenn (Bud) and Karyl Larson of Gatzke, MN. Lynn grew up on a cattle and grain farm near Gatzke, MN. Lynn attended grade school in Gatzke until the 8th grade, then graduated from Middle River High School in 1964.
Upon graduation, Lynn worked for Ray McMillin in Chokoloskee, Florida until drafted in the US army where he trained at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was deployed to Dugway Proving Ground, Utah and went on to serve at Seoul Korea where he worked with the Veterinarian Corps. He was honorably discharged early after being diagnosed with schizophrenia. He spent the rest of his years in Fergus Falls, MN, and Birchwood Care Center where he spent the majority of his years.
Lynn loved music and spent his early years playing bass with his family and with the Dickie Miller Band. Lynn’s amp & bass guitar were always at the side of his bed. Lynn was known to be very kind and he would help his roommates if they were unable to help themselves.
Lynn is survived by his sister Susan Larson-Mall (Charlie) of West Fargo, ND; brother Randy Larson of Gatzke, MN along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by his brother Lowell Larson; parents Glenn & Karyl Larson; grandparents Emily & Minda Larson; and Henry & Bertha Grondahl.
The family of Lynn Larson gratefully acknowledge the many kind expressions of sympathy during this time of loss. The family would also like to thank the staff of Birchwood Care Home for the loving care they provided to Lynn through 44 years of care.
