Vernon Knutson is Vietnam Casualty

Vernon (Sonny) Knutson of Middle River was a casualty of the Viet Nam War. He was killed in combat near Hua Nghia, South Vietnam on February 16, 1969.

Vernon was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Knutson of Middle River and a 1967 graduate of Middle River High School. He joined the army shortly after graduation and received his basic training at Ft. Bliss, Texas and was later stationed at Ft. Polk, Lousiana, and Ft. Lewis, Washington.
