Brooke Fredrickson Receives Prestigious Award

As a former educator, I have always considered the Minnesota State High School League sponsored Triple A award to be the cream of the crop as far as high school awards go. It represents an extremely well-rounded student who has excelled in all areas of education - Arts, Academics, and Athletics. Each year I look forward to the announcement from our local schools of their recipients that are chosen by a Triple A committee. So it is a special accomplishment when one of our local winners advances from local, to Sub-Section 32, to Region 8A to the state level of competition. And having worked with Brooke, I know she is very deserving of this award.

The Sub-Section level of competition included 8 other female school winners, and the Region 8A competition, which propelled Brooke to the state competition, consisted of winners from three other northern Sections. The announcement of the state winner in the past has been during the halftime of the AA state basketball tournament, however, this year the state competition will be held via zoom. Each Section winner will have their photo displayed at the state tournament but the results will be available on March 22. There will be two representatives (male & female) from all 8 sections. Our area fared well in the competition as James Pederson of Stephen-Argyle School was the male winner for Section 8.
