Middle River Main Street Lights get Upgrade

Michael Brandon does some finishing touches on the cement bases for the Middle River Main Street Lights. A repair project was necessary to remove the lights and restore the base when weather conditions caused the rising of the posts. The lights are lying on the ground waiting for their replacement. The lights were a donation of the Middle River Sportsmen’s Club who also made a donation for their repair.

GMR Elementary receives gift from Friends of the Library

GMR elementary teachers were pleasantly surprised on Monday morning when Deb Korczak and Judy Pulczinski from the Greenbush Area Friends of the Library presented each of their classrooms with a check for $900. These checks will be deposited in each classroom’s Scholastic book account and all GMR elementary students will be able to order “free” books through the upcoming school year! The Friends of the Library group feels strongly about the importance of “putting books into the hands of children”. Thank you to this wonderful, generous group for promoting literacy in our communities!
