O. Richard Lee

O. Richard (Dick) Lee, 88, passed away on September 2nd in Menasha, Wisconsin. His funeral was held in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wisconsin, on September 8th. His parents were Olaf and Marie Kvale Lee. Dick’s father is reputed to be the first white child born in New Folden Township, Marshall County, Minnesota. He was born in November, 1883, to homesteaders Ole and Kari Lee. Dick was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Marie and his 45 year old father. Dick Lee attended St. Olaf College and got his B. S. degree from the University of North Dakota. His career was in insurance. Dick was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn, and sister, Alice Kottom. Surviving are three sons, four grandchildren and other relatives. Locally, there are three first cousins: Katherine Knutson and Valborg and Raynard Huglen, all of Newfolden.
