Marlo Rae Ann Rybakowski was born January 22nd, 1955 in Thief River Falls. The daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Olson) Rybakowski. Marlo Rae was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended grade school in Middle River and High school in Greenbush.

Marlo Rae “Tiny” was a hard worker and a jack of all trades. After school she worked on her parent’s farm; throwing bales, milking cows, and delivering lambs. She later did carpentry work, bartended, waitressed, did house cleaning and many other odd jobs. Tiny worked for many years at Northern Pride in Thief River Falls, later she worked construction in the Northwest Territories of Canada. In 1995, she met her special friend of 14 years, Darrell Johnson. Tiny worked with him in his business, 5 Star Propane, installing and servicing heating and cooling units. She later enjoyed mowing lawns for people in Middle River. Tiny was proud to be a strong and independent woman.

Tiny had many blessings in her life including three daughters, Mary, Tracie and Pearl. Tiny was an avid gardener and hunter. She took great pride in her large vegetable and flower gardens. She looked forward to canning and was very generous to give most of what she grew and canned away. Tiny had a love for deer hunting and looked forward to it every fall, never missing a season. She enjoyed sucker fishing, picking berries, mushrooms and asparagus. Tiny enjoyed telling jokes and loved to visit with friends and family. Tiny had a great love for animals and loved to help anyone in need. Tiny was survived by her daughters, Mary Julia Swenson (Steve Dagenais) and their daughter Madison Julia Dagenais. Tracie Ann Peterson (Jason Peterson) and their children, Joshua David Koehmstedt, Bryton Kenneth Wappula, Helaina Evelynn Peterson, and Jackson Richard Earl Peterson, all of Middle River. Two sisters, Marjean (Curtis) Wolff of Strathcona, Jeanette (Edward) Pulczinski of Greenbush. Three brothers, Raymond Jr. (Cindy) Rybakowski of Middle River, Richard (Naomi) Rybakowski of Badger, and Calvin Rybakowski of Middle River. One aunt Olive Wiskow of Goodridge. Many Nieces, nephews, relatives and good friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents Raymond and Gloria Rybakowski, Alvin and Margaret Swenson. Grandparents Gilbert and Beatrice Olson, and John and Valeria Rybakowski-Fisher. One daughter, Pearl Beatrice Sannes, one grandson, Christopher Allen Koehmstedt, special friend Darrell Johnson, and many aunts, uncles, relatives and good friends. Tiny passed away peacefully on Thursday July 16th, 2020 with her daughters by her side. May her memory be greatly blessed, for she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Collins Funeral Chapel in Middle River with visitation after. Interment services were held Friday, at First Lutheran Cemetery in Middle River.

A memorial service for Elsie Wallace will be held August 1st at 11:00 am at Honker Flats Farm.

Elsie Joan Wallace, daughter of George and Clara Schimming was born in Princeton, MN, in a private residence, May 7th 1941. Elsie married Ray Wallace of Backus, MN June 7th of 1958. In 1965, Ray and Elsie left the Backus area and moved to Middle River, MN to continue farming. Elsie was very involved in the everyday farm life, from herding cattle by horseback, milking cows, to field work. If it was summer, you would hear the Minnesota Twins playing on the radio in the barn while she was milking cows. When Elsie wasn’t busy farming, she was busy as a 4H leader going as a Roseau County 4-H delegate to the National 4-H Leadership Forum in Washington DC. Elsie loved helping others by being involved with Al-anon and Alateen. Her favorite love was her walk with the Lord. She was blessed to be a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Thief Lake where she shared her love of the Lord with others and her children. Elsie’s early hobbies included hunting waterfowl, deer and antelope in Montana. Elsie also loved fishing, going to Rena’s cabin in Backus with Lucy, and having dog fish catching competitions. She loved to tend her flower beds. She successfully planted and cared for hundreds of flowers every spring and summer. Elsie was also the head label technician at the greenhouse. She took her job very seriously. She also spent many winters diligently cleaning glad bulbs, readying them for spring planting.

Elsie was the loving mother of 6 children: Lewis Wallace {wife Tammy}, Nola Honkala {husband Gary}, Rena Schreur {husband Kevin}, JoAnn Wallace, Karla Saagge, and Logan Wallace {wife Jennifer}.

Elsie is preceded in death by her Parents George and Clara Schimming, exhusband Ray Wallace, brothers-in-law Harold Mankenberg, August Fraisl, Cordell Wiskow.

Elsie is survived by sisters: Helen Mankenberg-Fraisl, Agnes Gilson {husband Doyle} Lucille Wiskow, Brothers-in-law, Tom Wallace {wife Pat}, Dave Wallace{wife Muriel},sister-in-law, Ann Wallace, all 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elsie passed away peacefully in her home the evening of February 21st, 2020 under the care of Hospice and her family. May her memory be blessed.
