He attended school at the AC in Crookston where he received his high school diploma.
Richard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps being deployed to Vietnam. He received the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, Purple Heart, Vietnamese Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, National Defense Ribbon, Combat Aircrew Insignia, Air Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Presidential Unit Citation and the Meritorious Mast.
Rick pursued a lifelong career in construction. He worked with Agassiz Construction and ICS, and after retirement, continued serving his community as a dispatcher for the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office.
A man of many interests, Richard held a Federal Explosives License and enjoyed putting it to use. He had a passion for aviation and loved flying his own airplanes, often giving rides to others. He also found joy in hunting, fishing, and canoeing. His German Shepherds—Bear, Weston, and Bailey—held a special place in his heart.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Jody (Stacy) Beauchane and Chad (Debbie) Beauchane; grandchildren Jozi (Kyle) Nupson, Cody Beauchane, Wyatt (Danielle) Beauchane, Alea (Chase) Larson, Erin Beauchane, Jacob (Shelby) Beauchane, and Caitlin (Kevin) Kimble; and great-grandchildren Pippa and Kit Nupson, Jack, Lilian, Philip, Alexandra, and Amelia Beauchane.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ronald Beauchane; daughter-in-law Jeannette Beauchane; sister-inlaw Patricia Beauchane; and brother-in-law Ernie Franklin.
A traditional funeral service will be held at Hope Evangelical Free Church in Fertile, Minnesota 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 25, 2025 with Pastor Ken Andrs officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls, MN.
