Ye Olde Warming House

Today the Honker arrived in our mailbox and on the front page I saw the new warming house that will be installed at the skating rink. In the past, you have posted articles by Donnie Kezar who with his words described skating on the frozen river. As one who also lived there in the 1940s, I would like to share my recollections.
Our schoolhouse had been destroyed by fire, so we met in makeshift classrooms. The war had an effect on all cities and communities, but the one thing we had plenty of were kids, lots of kids to play with. Boys and girls.
