Where are They Now?

~ Aldyn Lindahl Salmi ~

The Honker has a way of connecting people and memories. In the case of Aldyn (Lindahl) Salmi, it came in the form of a letter thanking us for keeping the Honker in circulation for Middle River and commenting on her memories of some of our stories. And of course, one communique led to another!

Aldyn Lindahl was born in Newfolden on January 11, 1930, being baptized by Rev. Ronholm. She attended elementary school in Newfolden and Thief River Falls before moving to Middle River in 1941. She then attended grades 6 through 12, graduating with the Middle River High School Class of 1948. She was a classmate of Vernon Nelson, the originator of the Skipper logo. And she was proud to be one of the original Skipper cheerleaders!
