Rural Reflections

I like this time of year, it is not really a season, it’s a state.

The state of transition is where we are at right now.

Transitions are where all the good stuff happens, it is also the scariest time. Marriage, birth, earning your driver’s license, graduation, death, etc. are all transitions where good and bad things occur at an emotional sound level which is easy to hear. These transitions are where we make promises to ourselves and others. These transitions are also where we find out if our word is any good or if we just got caught up in the emotion of the moment.

I like the fall transition the best. This is a bittersweet time of year as I always missed our farm animals when I went back to school.
