In this world of modern information, it’s easy to find out about things that you never knew existed. That is what has happened with the Bed & Breakfast located in the Legacy Building in Middle River. Checking on Facebook, thoughts and comments were found that have been shared by lodgers. The B&B has also been included on the “Quirky `Minnesota Places” with its inclusion description below: “Middle River is a cute small town in NW Minnesota. The school closed due to lack of enrollment but the town converted the empty school into an Airbnb. Fall asleep counting sheep in the 1st grade classroom, play in the school gym, make supper in the home ec room. Fun place to explore, great small town hospitality…and inexpensive to stay!”

There is a lot to do when you become eligible for Medicare and it can seem overwhelming. Minnesota’s Senior LinkAge Line offers a class giving you answers. The Senior LinkAge Line Medicare 101 class is for people new to Medicare and would like to learn about Medicare Parts A, B, C and D. Topics include a comprehensive introduction to Medicare including what Medicare covers, supplemental insurance and Part D prescription coverage. During class, you will find out how to get the most from your benefits and how to research your Medicare plan options using the Medicare.gov site.

The Annual Meeting of the Middle River Community Club will be held on Saturday, January 22 at the Legion Clubrooms. This will be a pot luck event with a Social beginning at 5:30, dinner at 6:30, followed by the annual meeting. The past year will be reviewed and plans will be discussed for the upcoming year. The Community Club is the heart of the community as it is a sponsor for many events throughout the year.
