Badger Gator Robotics Team Competes at Great Northern Regional

On March 1-3, 2018, the Alerus Center in Grand Forks was abuzz with nearly 1,500 students from 47 teams as the inaugural Great Northern Regional FIRST Robotics Competition was under way. Teams from 5 states gathered to compete on the Power Up playing field to see who would earn the title of Regional Champion and have the honor of advancing to the World Championships in Detroit, MI, in April.   

Badger High School represented one of those 47 teams. Qualification rounds ran all day Friday, and continued Saturday morning.  Gator Robotics finished the qualifications with a record of 8-2-1 and ranked 5th overall.  During the alliance selection process the top 8 teams choose two other robots to join them in the elimination rounds.  As the selection process began, the number two alliance, Team 525 -Swartdogs, from Cedar Falls, IA, invited Team 3750 to join their alliance and they graciously accepted. During the second round of picks alliance number two chose team 5638 – LQPV Robotics from Madison, MN, to complete their team.
