“Hip Hip Hooray” was a great title for the Verna Flaten Appreciation Day held at First Lutheran Church last Sunday. Verna had hip replacement surgery and is scheduled for a second surgery soon. The benefit was held in her honor, to raise money to help defray medical costs. The cake showed off the logo and the flowers and butterflies personified Verna’s sunny disposition. She does much volunteer work at First Lutheran, especially with the Sunday School, and around the community of Middle River, as well.
