I stayed in MN’s Famed Schoolhouse Airbnb
It was already dark when I arrived in Middle River on a summer evening. To get there I had traveled over 330 miles from my home in the Twin Cities. The small NW Minnesota town has a population of 303 people and sits just about an hour south of the Manitoba border. When I arrived at my Airbnb for the night, I wasn’t checking into a hotel or a rental home, I was wheeling my luggage into a retired classroom. 2023-06-09 11:00 PM

Marshall County State Bank Ranked #1 among Minnesota's Small Banks
Marshall County State Bank Ranked #1 among Minnesota's Small Banks
Marshall County State Bank, located in Newfolden, has made headlines for being ranked as the top small bank in Minnesota. Two of their sister-banks also made the list, Security State Bank of Oklee, ranked #6, and The First National Bank of McIntosh at #10. Following the failure of multiple major banks earlier this year, tensions ran high, and some even panicked. According to a May 11th article in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal “it's evident that [banks] with the most assets aren't always the strongest. Small, often rural banks, pride themselves on their relationships with their clients, and with the banking industry in tumult, those personal relationships can go a long way to securing a small bank's success.” Minnesota’s small banks were ranked by the following criteria: profitability, customer satisfaction, innovation, and community involvement. These factors help determine the bank's financial strength, service quality, and involvement in its community. 2023-06-09 11:00 PM
