“Making Minnesota” Creators visit Barb Geer Memorial Library
David Geister and Patricia Bauer are touring the Northwest Regional Library System and stopped in Middle River on Wednesday, July 12th. The husband and wife duo are the creators behind “Making Minnesota”, an activity book that is “full of information and activities for kids of all ages, this celebration of all things Minnesota highlights the people we live with, the parks and waterways we play in, the animals we observe, the places we love to visit–and the history that made it all possible. The book offers activities to help readers aged seven and up engage with Minnesota’s history, people, and places–by making their own illustrations and drawings, maps, lists of favorite places, and other ways to make Minnesota great!” 2023-07-14 04:00 AM

Summer exists for two reasons, to prepare for winter and to mow the lawn. The first reason is for pure survival. The second reason is even more important as there are few things more “Minnesotan” than mowing the lawn. It is an activity that holds priority above all other pursuits. 2023-07-07 11:00 PM

MAKING HISTORY
MAKING HISTORY
Three Gator Girls teams earned trips to state this year, and, Tom Miller wrote about this “rare hat trick of making state in volleyball, basketball and softball” in the June 6th Grand Forks Herald. In Volleyball, they brought home the Consolation Championship title under coach Stacy Dahl. The Basketball team, coached by Brad Dahl, lost in the title game for the consolation championship. Coach Kent Christian and the Gator Softball team came home with the 2nd place trophy. The softball team alone has been to State 11 times. BGMR Gator Girls sports have been strong for many years, and these girls are strong leaders and leave future teams in position to be nothing but tough competition! 2023-07-07 11:00 PM
