Rural Reflections
Summer exists for two reasons, to prepare for winter and to mow the lawn. The first reason is for pure survival. The second reason is even more important as there are few things more “Minnesotan” than mowing the lawn. It is an activity that holds priority above all other pursuits.

MAKING HISTORY
Three Gator Girls teams earned trips to state this year, and, Tom Miller wrote about this “rare hat trick of making state in volleyball, basketball and softball” in the June 6th Grand Forks Herald. In Volleyball, they brought home the Consolation Championship title under coach Stacy Dahl. The Basketball team, coached by Brad Dahl, lost in the title game for the consolation championship. Coach Kent Christian and the Gator Softball team came home with the 2nd place trophy. The softball team alone has been to State 11 times. BGMR Gator Girls sports have been strong for many years, and these girls are strong leaders and leave future teams in position to be nothing but tough competition!

Teams will be Recognized during 2023 TTT Cancer Tribute Ceremony
In last week’s Honker, we had the privelege to announce that Trails To Treatments had awarded grants totalling over $1,000,000. The committee works extremely hard to fulfill their misson of “assisting those in need of funding during their treatment of cancer. . . and believe most people are not fully prepared for the out-of-pocket expenses cancer treatment requires. Our volunteers are dedicated to the long-term success of this grant program through ongoing donations and fund raising efforts.”
