On the afternoon of 09/05/25, the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office received a report about a domestic assault that had occurred the night before at an Emardville Township residence. Red Lake County law enforcement officers went to the home of Jason Wayne Malwitz (51) of Plummer and placed him under arrest. Mr. Malwitz was taken to jail in Crookston and was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 09/08/25 and was released with court-ordered conditions. He made another court appearance in Red Lake Falls on 09/10/25 and the matter was set for another hearing at a later date.
