Rural Reflections

I see a lot of advice that people should slow down in life. I agree that we have over-programmed our lives and do not schedule enough time to absorb our experiences or just relax. However, if slowing life down means delaying experiences, then I disagree. I think we need less busy work and more careful investment of our time.I have been told all my life that I am impatient. In recent years, people have paid me the compliment that I am more patient than in the past. This is not true, I just express my impatience less. I also circumvent those who procrastinate and go on without them. One of my favorite sayings is from Doctor Perry Cox from the television show “Scrubs.” The quote is “I'm sorry. That's my fault. I didn't make it clear how I feel about things that should already be done. So, here it is. I almost always wish things were done already.”

Rural Reflections

I am getting older but am I improving with age? This is a question that is too subjective to be answered with any accuracy. Asking myself if I am learning anything from the experience of aging seems to be a question that can be measured with some accuracy, even if only by self-evaluation.
