Norma Jean Walton was born to Marie (Bakkum) and Ingvold Lien, September 23, 1930 in Adams, ND. She married Earl Walton November 14, 1960. They resided in Middle River, MN where they raised their family.
Norma enjoyed spending time with family, camping, gardening, quilting, coloring, drawing, painting, and was active with the church and pathfinder groups.
Norma was a loving person. She had a heart of gold, always helping others out. She was known as the town rummage sale queen. Over the years she developed a lot of friendships. She loved to play guitar, piano, sing and was known for her ability to yodel and play accordion.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Linda Johnson of Badger, MN; Jim Martin, Lake Bronson, MN; Rhonda Peterson (Darin Lokken), Bismarck, ND; Kirk Walton, Thief River Falls,MN; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her loving friend, Wanda Ebach.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Ingvold Lien; husband, Earl in 2010; infant daughter, Denise Walton; daughter, Brenda Walton; son, Doyle Martin; and 9 siblings: Edwin, Ernest, Inez, Thelma, Verna, Walter, Victor, Elsie and Elden.
Norma passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, January 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at her home in Badger, MN.
Funeral services in loving memory of Norma Walton (September 23, 1930 ~ January 12, 2019) were held at 2 P.M. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at First Lutheran Church in Middle River, Minnesota with Pastor Jim Blaize officiating. Lois Peterson was the organist and Lois and Lois provided special music.
By their presence, Norma’s family considered each of the attendees an honorary bearer. Casket Bearers were Kirk Walton, Michell Martin, Jamie Martin, Anthony Martin, Gary Ryba and Roger Ryba.
Interment is in Riverside Cemetery, Middle River, Minnesota. Arrangements with Collins Funeral Homes of Middle River, Karlstad & Greenbush, MN.
