Morgan Huset
Morgan J. Huset, 79, of Grand Forks, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 surrounded by his family at Valley Senior Living on Columbia.
Morgan John was born April 29, 1942 in Thief River Falls, MN to the late Carl and Lorretta (Traynor) Huset. He grew up in Middle River and graduated from high school there in 1960. He then served our country in the United States Army from 1965-1968.
On December 27, 1969 he married Ellen Koehmstedt in Middle River, MN. They lived in St. Paul where Morgan worked for Van Dusen Airlines. He earned degrees in teaching and school administration. They then moved many places in North Dakota for his work including Plaza, Northwood, Bowden, Fordville, and Walhalla where he retired. They settled in Grand Forks and he worked as a bus driver for Dietrich Bus Service where he made many friends. Morgan enjoyed muskie fishing, hunting, the Bun Lounge,
Morgan enjoyed muskie fishing, hunting, the Bun Lounge, working on Ford Mustangs, trips with the grandkids and their sporting events but his greatest passion was for educating kids. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Middle River American Legion Post #444, and Muskies, Inc.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Ellen Huset of Grand Forks; children Sean (Cathy) Huset of North Branch, MN, Kris (Lance) Christinson of St.Thomas, ND, and Carl Ryan “Zoomer” Huset of Grand Forks; grandchildren Forrest (Abby), Haley, and Gabriel Huset, Nikita Huset (Safet Hrustomovic), Caleb Huset, and David Leason; great-grandson Cianan Hrustomovic; foster sister Geneva Schmidt of Roseau, MN and her daughter Elly Sandstrom of North Branch, MN; and special friend from Dietrich Bus Service, Brenna Dresseillier; and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Jane Huset, foster sisters Evelyn Shew and Kathy Devereaux, foster brother Thomas Conklin, niece Stacy Dunham, 2 great-nephews, and 2 great-nieces.
