Eian Gustafson

Eian Marlo Gustafson was born on March 6, 2002, in Roseau, MN to Neil and Kristi (Wolff) Gustafson. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith at his home and attended Sunday school, youth group and was confirmed at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Strathcona. He attended school in Greenbush where he graduated in 2020.

Following school, he worked on the pipeline and worked construction in the area. He was excited to start his new job at Digi-Key Corp. on Monday. Eian passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved and was passionate about Fishing. On Tuesday July 6th, 2021, at Unity Medical Center in Grafton ND at age of 19.

Eian was a very caring, kind, and considerate young man who connected with everyone and always found the best in everyone. He was active in Tae Kwon Do earning his black belt and shooting in the trap club. He loved fishing, hunting, playing video games and card games, especially Pinochle with Grandma Jeannie as his partner. His parents will have a cherished memory, he hand dug a fish pond in the back yard with a fountain and water lilies. He also made his own fishing lures and even sold fishing spinners. He fulfilled his dream by catching huge white sturgeon on the Columbia River in Oregon. At age 13 he won the North American Sturgeon Championship at Birchdale, MN. Eian was very passionate about fishing. He loved to teach and share his love of fishing with others.

Eian is survived by his loving parents, brother Preston Wolff, sister Shantelle Gustafson, grandmother Nancy Gustafson, grandparents Curtis and Marjean Wolff, aunts and uncles, Myles Gustafson, Natalie and Ken Korczak, Lori and Dan Parr, Kara and Dale Forst, cousins Trevor and Kammi Forst, Karley Forst, Evan Parr, Isabelle and Hayden Gustafson, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Marlo Gustafson, great grandparents Hector and Gladys Graff, John and Clara Gustafson, Eddy and Betty Wolff, Margaret and Alvin Swenson, and his great uncle Darrell Wolff.

Eian will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Funeral services were held at 2PM, Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Grace Evangelical Church in Strathcona with Pastor Curt Johnson presiding.

Visitation was held 2 hours prior to services at the church. Interment services were held at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery of rural Greenbush following services.
