Duane Peterson

Duane Kent Peterson, the son of Donald and Betty (Adolfson) Peterson, was born on March 2, 1954, at Hallock, MN. The family first resided at Lancaster, MN, then moved to the Newfolden, MN, community where Duane attended school and grew to manhood. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and trapped many gophers. He farmed with his Dad which meant cattle and field work. He loved to ride 4-wheeler, visiting with friends and family on Sundays and he was the best dumpster diver ever! He was a “good uncle” to his nieces, nephews and his great-nieces and nephews, watching over them and playing with them. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Betty, of Newfolden; three brothers: Leland, of Newfolden; Robert (Sue), of Moorcroft, Wyoming; and Keith (Deb), also of Newfolden; and one sister: Linda (Sam Makarim), Grand Forks, ND; ten nieces and nephews; Sheila, Cory, Aric, Andy, Nathan, Louis, Spencer, Ryan, Brady and Britney; 13 great nephews and nieces, cousins; and uncle: Vincent Adolfson, of Ellis, Kansas, aunt Ruby Peterson, of Lancaster, MN and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis in 1977; paternal grandparents: Ole and Edyth Peterson, his maternal grandparents: John and Emma Adolfson; step-grandfather: Joseph Wirak, and aunts and uncles.

Duane passed away at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, on Sunday afternoon, July 21, 2019, with his family by his side at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 19 days. The memory of Duane (Gringo) is blessed as he brought many blessings to others in his life.
