Middle River-Thief Lake LAH to Host Virtual Dementia Tour

On Thursday, October 17, the Middle River-Thief Lake Live At Home Program will be hosting a Virtual Dementia Tour. The Virtual Dementia Tour (the “Tour”) allows participants to experience the world of those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The “Tour” is two parts. First, there is an individual experience where participants are “garbed” in a way that alters the senses, much in the same way dementia alters the senses. The individual experience is then followed by a group debriefing. During the debriefing, participants will be able to share their thoughts, learn the science behind the Virtual Dementia Tour, and how this experience impacts them. The “Tour” is open to the public and is brought to Middle River by the Dancing Sky Area Agency on Aging.
